** Camp Read A-Lot May 25th**

Camp Read A-Lot is always a very fun day! This year we will be hosting Author/Illustrator Matthew Holm, the creator of Baby Mouse. We are in need of volunteers and 'smores supplies. Please call the Tammy Asbjornsen in the library to volunteer. You may drop off 'smores supplies in the office. Thank you so much. We are looking forward to a fantastic camp day.

** CH-S Cookie Dough Fundraiser **

Thank you families for selling cookie dough! As you know, Boosters have been working hard to earn money for the covered play area.  We are almost there!  We know how fortunate we are to have such a wonderful supportive community.

** CH-S Preschool Openings **

The Washougal School District/Community Education Cape Horn-Skye Preschool currently has openings for students.  We serve children age 3-5 years old.  Morning sessions for younger students are available Monday and Thursday.  Older students may attend afternoon sessions Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  Our preschool program teaches the "whole child" in a positive environment.  The curriculum supports the WSD expectations for entering kindergarten and also addresses the social, emotional and physical development for your child.  For more information, contact Lisa Young at 954-3895 or lisa.young@washougalsd.org

** MSP (Measurement of Student Progress) Schedule **

3rd Grade:  May 1st & 8th

4th Grade:  May 1st, 3rd, 8th & 10th

5th Grade:  May 1st, 3rd, 8th

We ask that you schedule appointments on non-MSP days; so that all students can take this very important assessment.

** 2012 - 2013 Kindergarten Round-Up & Orientation **

Enrollment Period:  Monday, April 30th, 2012 - Friday, May 4th, 2012

It is almost time to enroll new kindergarten students for the 2012 - 2013 school year.  Please stop by the CH-S Office and pickup the enrollment forms for your student.

Kindergarten Orientation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 16th at 8:30 a.m.  It is anticipated that the orientation will take approximately an hour.  Join CH-S staff and other kindergarten parents and students for a preview of our kindergarten program.  Students will get to meet their teacher, tour the school, take a ride on a bus, and visit our playground.  There will be a question and answer session for our parents, a review of a typical kindy student's school schedule, and suggestions for some fun summertime activities to do with your child.

IMMUNIZATION NOTICE

RCW 28A.210.080 states that all students must have their immunizations current in order to attend school. Washougal School District Policy No. 3413 also states that all students must be in compliance or they will be excluded from school. Parents are asked to provide requested documentation prior to the exclusion date on October 15, 2012. Please click this schedule of required immunizations.

Here is some of what we have done so far this year: *Given gifts and funds to CH-S familes with serious medical needs *Raised money for food baskets with the Penny Drive *Collected food to put in food baskets for local families *Purchased Christmas gifts for local kids in need We are so proud of our Kodiak families! Our community says THANK YOU!!! We can never say enough about what your caring and sharing means to children and families in our local area.
