Local Scholarships with Deadline in March

2011 Camas-Washougal Chamber Scholarship
$1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing a business-related degree. Must have a 3.0 cum GPA or better, and submit transcripts and essay. Letter of recommendation also desired, but not required this year. Deadline is usually in March.

Local Scholarships with Deadline in April

Amber Goheen-Harlan Scholarship
Seniors who have been on the high school tennis team can compete for this scholarship offered in memory of Amber Goheen-Harlan. The award can be worth as much as $3,000. Letter of recommendation from coach and/or USPTA Tennis Teaching Professional, and a personal letter required. Deadline is usually in April.

Catholic Daughter’s of the Americas Felix Mueller Scholarship
Two $625 scholarships will be awarded to Catholic seniors who attend St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church or Our Lady of the Sea in Stevenson. Two letters of recommendation, and transcripts are required. Deadline is usually in April.

Lacamas Credit Union Scholarships
Three $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to seniors who are members of Lacamas Credit Union or dependents of members who have been with the credit union for a minimum of 6 months. Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or better. Essay on benefits of credit unions and some person information required, letters of recommendation, and transcript required. Test scores, leadership, activities, service, and need are also considered. Deadline is usually in April.

Local Scholarships with Deadline in May

Camas-Washougal Rotary Scholarship
6-$1,000 Scholarships are available. Transcript, 2 letters of recommendation, resume, and essay on “Service Above Self” are required. Deadline is usually in early May.

North Bank Masonic Lodge Ward Hoxsie Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship for students to attend a 4-year college. Must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA or better. Information about goals, how your chosen career will benefit the community, high school activities and awards, and short essay on choice of 4 topics required. Application available at www.northbank182.org. Deadline is usually in May.

Odd Fellows Lonnie Belz Scholarship
$1,500 scholarship open to seniors. Awards are based on service, citizenship, honors, awards, need, and education and career goals. Deadline is usually in early May. (Application should be turned in to the Career Center)

One Stop Home Furnishings Scholarship
$500 scholarship will be awarded to a WHS senior who plans to pursue a career related to business or science. Must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA or better. Information about future plans and goals, high school classes taken, activities, and honors and scholarships received are required. Deadline is usually in May.

Washougal Lions Club Scholarships
Three $500 scholarships are available to WHS seniors. Short essay on the importance of community service today is required. Finalists will present their essay to the club. Deadline is usually in May.

Washougal PSE Len Bottemiller Memorial Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship is available to WHS seniors. Transcripts, three letters of recommendation, and personal statement required. Extra points given to dependents of PSE members, and other school employees. Deadline is usually in early May.

Washougal Schools Foundation Scholarship
Four $1,000 scholarships will be awarded WHS seniors. Essay is required on the importance of community involvement and serving as a role model. Information about academics, leadership, community service and extracurricular activities is also required. Deadline is usually in May.

Local Scholarship with Deadline in June

Camas-Washougal Business Alliance Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship. Transcript, and essay (community service and how student will use academic and occupational skills to benefit the community) are required. Extracurricular activities will also be considered. Deadline is usually early June.

Washougal Association of Educators Scholarship
Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to WHS seniors who are pursuing a career in teaching. Transcript and a short essay about career goals are required. Deadline is usually in early June.
