FIRST Robotics Team 2471, Team Mean Machine, which consists of students from Camas, Discovery, Hockinson and Washougal High Schools, is hosting the SW Washington FIRST Lego League and FIRST Tech Challenge Qualifying Meet on Saturday, December 7th, 2019 at Discovery High School in Camas, WA.
The FIRST program is a worldwide organization founded by Dean Kamen in 1992, advocating for the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.  FIRST was designed to encourage students to pursue STEM related careers while instilling a sense of gracious professionalism.  FIRST is built around four levels of robotics competition, FLL Jr. (k-3 grade), FLL (4-8 grade), FTC (7-12 grade) and FRC (9-12 grade).  Team 2471 is a FRC team.  For more information about FIRST and details on their different programs visit their website at https://www.firstinspires.org and to find out more about FRC Team Mean Machine 2471 visit their website at https://team2471.org.
This event on December 7th is huge for STEM students in SW Washington and is an amazing outreach opportunity for Team Mean Machine that some of our very own Washougal students are a part of!
