Students from Washougal High School placed first and second place in the Voice of Democracy essay for Washougal’s local VFW. The 2021/2022 essay theme is “Where do we go from here?”

First place winner was WHS senior Carson Chase, who won a scholarship of $600.  Second place was WHS senior Jacob Streuli winning a $400 scholarship. This was presented by members of the VFW and the Women’s Auxiliary.

Both Carson and Jacob’s essays will be moving on to the State competition and with the opportunity to win a $30,000 scholarship and a trip to Washington, DC.

Congrats to them both. We are very proud of their accomplishments.
