Weekly message from Dr. Mary Templeton to WSD staff – May 10, 2019
Hathaway: Muffins with Mom this morning! I love to see the moms enter into the school with their children, hand-in-hand as they excitedly move to the “muffin room”! Another wonderful example of how we are all working together to provide an inviting and accessible opportunity for our parents to authentically partner with us. Good job Hathaway!
High School: The High School Jazz band made their way last Saturday to the Mt. Hood Jazz Festival. I loved the focus our kids have on the performance and the professionalism. The best part, aside from a “swinging great time” and super-talented soloists, was the look of honest, pure fun on the face of our stand-up bass player and our drummer as they found a “sweet grove” on the last number of the set. Dang…I should have been in band! Great job, Director Ritter!
Soccer Shelter Donation: Thanks to the generous donations of the Klopman Family and Riverview Bank, our soccer teams now have a soccer shelter to keep them dry when the Columbia Gorge winds make it rain “side-ways”. We know that having excellent equipment and facilities for our students, who participate in our athletic programs, is critical. We love it when we are able to authentically partner with our community in making this happen.
