************************************** It's In-District Boundary Exception (IBE) time again! We will begin accepting forms for next year soon, with the first consideration window of March 4 - May 17. A letter and an updated form will be mailed out to the family of each student who is currently atending a school under an IBE on February 27. Decisions for the "window 1" applications will be mailed out by the end of May. Parents will receive one of four letters at that time: "approved", "denied", "cannot be determined at this time", or "you didn't turn in a form - are you interested in an IBE for next year?" Window 2 will run through August 23, at which time another round of decisions will be made based on the enrollment numbers at that time. Please feel free to send them to our Cape Horn-Skye office and we will forward them to the District Office. If you have any questions, please call Sandy at 954-0000. Thank you ***************************************** December 14, 2012 Dear parents and guardians, Our thoughts go out to the families affected and we hope for the quick recovery of those injured in the shooting. I am sending my thoughts of support and caring to each of you as you work to handle this tragic news. As parents, we all feel the pain of this loss. Your child may need extra support as they hear of the incident through the media and listen to conversations in the community. The following are some tips for you in helping your children with their feelings and thoughts about this incident. It is important to keep in mind the age and emotional maturity of your children as you decide what to share.
Sincerely, Mary Lou Woody, Principal

Cape Horn-Skye Boosters and Community Partner to Build Covered Play Area (posted 8-10-2012) The Cape Horn-Skye Booster club has raised enough money and donations to begin construction of a covered play area for use by students during school recess. The construction on the play area has begun, and project organizers hope to have it completed by the start of school. The school will host an evening grand opening ceremony for this new facility after school starts.
Partnering with the boosters are a dedicated work crew including Derek Connolly, Adam Connolly, Matt Golphenee, David Ferguson, Jason Mansfield, Travis Davis, John Hancock, Keith Wall and Jeremy VanDaam. McNealy Excavating picked up and delivered the lumber for the structure, which came from Hubbard, OR, and has also donated equipment and staff time to help with construction. Cemex, Inc. donated most of the concrete needed for the post holes, and B&B Tile and Masonry in Vancouver significantly discounted the cost of a forklift and concrete mixer for use during the project.
Thank you Cape Horn-Skye Boosters and community supporters for making this wonderful addition to the school facility possible!
