COVID-19 Child Care
Dear Child Care Families,
The Washougal School District is starting the process of returning small groups of students to classrooms beginning Thursday, September 24 th . This change requires staff working at child care to return to work in on-site school classrooms.
As a result of this staff reallocation, child care hours will change beginning Thursday, September 24th.
The new child care hours will be 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM. Synchronous and asynchronous learning will still be supported in child care and the “typical” school day schedule will continue to be followed.
As a district we are working to support our families during these challenging times, but remain mindful that we must do so within the parameters of our funding and as district staffing allows.
Essential employees, including First Responders and Health Care workers are our first priority for providing emergency childcare during this outbreak. If you have an urgent need for childcare, please fill out this Survey and indicate if childcare is needed.
This emergency childcare program will begin September 2, 2020, and will be held at Hathaway Elementary, 630 24th Street, Washougal, in Portable G (located behind the building).
The planned hours of service are modified to 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM as of 9-24-2020 on school days, for grades K-5. This will be at a cost, and space is limited. The cost of the program is $5.85 per hour. The charges will be computed based on the student arrival time and departure time. Invoices will be sent at the end of the month.
Breakfast and lunch can be brought from home or purchased through the district foodservice via Skyward. Snacks will be provided in the afternoon.
Arrangements for attendance must be made first through Lisa Young, with pre-registration required. You can also contact Lisa Young at 360-954-3895 or lisa.young@washougalsd.org.
