Troubleshooting tips:

RED X:  If a student gets a “red X” when trying to use the clever portal for badges, it generally means they are connected to the WSD_Enroll network instead of the WSD_Student network.  You can change this by pressing the home button, going to settings, then choosing Wifi and taping on WSD_Student.  The iPad should connect automatically.

Bonus – if you want to keep a student’s iPad from automatically connecting to the guest or WSD_Enroll network in the future, do this:  Click settings, then Wifi.  In the list on the right side, click WSD_Enroll (or WSD_Guest), and then scroll down and click “Forget this Network” at the bottom.  It will delete that network from it’s list of previously used networks, and will not connect automatically in the future.

The Red X can also show up if a student has unenrolled from the district, and has been removed from Skyward.  If you have a student who gets the Red X, and is not on the Enroll or Guest network, ensure you have the right badge for that student, and that they are currently enrolled.
