Athletic Information:
With input from a community committee, the Board of Directors approved an increase in sport fees for athletes who participate in sports at Canyon Creek and Jemtegaard Middle Schools and Washougal High School next year. The Board’s decision was based on three key ideas:
- Set fees high enough to effectively support the athletic programs and defer the need for further increases in the near future.
- Use funds to offset costs such as transportation, equipment safety, and officials’ fees.
- Encourage community fundraising/donations for a scholarship fund to cover fees for students who are approved for free and reduced lunch.
After much discussion, the Board approved the new sport fees for next year as follows:
- Middle Schools $50.00 flat fee for participation in one or more sports
- High School $100.00 per sport, with a reduced fee of $50.00 for a third sport.
The sport fees would be in addition to the school’s ASB card fee. Students approved for free and reduced lunch are encouraged to request a scholarship for fees from the school's ASB secretary.
