Definition of Terms –
In-District Boundary (IBE): students living in Washougal School District requesting to attend another school within the district (i.e. Gause to Hathaway).
Out–of-District Boundary (Choice Transfer): students living outside Washougal School District requesting to attend a school in the Washougal School District (i.e. Camas SD to Washougal SD).
The In-District Boundary Exception Process for the 2017-2018 school year has been updated following the completion of the elementary and middle school boundary review process. Please visit the School Boundary Review Page to find this year’s boundary form, as well as important information for families about the boundary exception process.
Any student who resides outside the district may apply to attend a school in the district. All applications (Choice Transfer Requests) for nonresident attendance will be considered based on space availability in the grade/program requested, per Washougal School District Board Policy 3141.
A parent or guardian will apply for admission on behalf of his or her child by completing the Choice Transfer Form. The form is also available at the Washougal School District Office at 4855 Evergreen Way, Washougal, WA 98671.
Non-resident boundary requests are valid for one school year only. These requests must be completed and submitted for consideration each year.
Out-of-district Choice Transfer request forms for the following school year will be accepted the beginning of May.
For new and returning students in grades 1 – 12, notification of approval or denial will be made by June 15th.
For Kindergarten students as well as students applying after the first round of decisions are made, notification of approval or denial will be given by the end of the first week of school in September.
Any questions regarding Choice Transfer requests can be directed to Boo Stevens at 360-954-3011, or email@example.com
The elementary and middle school boundaries for the 2017-2018 school year have been re-developed through the boundary review process.
