• ATHLETES! Spring sports begin on February 27. Get ready with physicals and fees! Fall and Winter Athletes: If you plan to turn out for a spring sport, you need to come to the ASB office to sign the transfer sheet and pay the spring fee.
• Scholarship lists have been updated. Seniors: check out local scholarships.
• All girls interested in playing softball: There will be a player meeting on Wed., Feb. 15, at 11:25 a.m. in Coach Carver’s room 133.
• Junior Student and Parent Information Night will be held on Thurs., Feb. 16, at 7 p.m. in the Washburn Auditorium. This is a very important meeting. A wide range of topics from senior year expectations to college and post high school options will be discussed. Please be there and bring your parent.
• “Inherit the Wind” is here. See it this weekend--7:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights, Feb. 17-18! Tickets are only $4 for students!
• Cheer & Mascot Tryouts are Feb. 21 – 24. Please pick up try-out packets in the Main Office.
In the CAREER CENTER:
• Juniors: If you are interested in attending the Clark County Skills Center next year and didn’t go on the tour as a sophomore, you are invited to a pre-tour assembly in the auditorium during Panther Time on Thurs., Feb. 16. Come to the Career Center for a pass.
• A rep from the U.S. Air Force will be in the Career Center during Panther Time on Fri., Feb. 17. Learn about the educational opportunities.
• Juniors & Seniors, if you would like to check out some of Clark College’s programs, Professional-Technical Day is your chance to explore engineering, medical, surveying, welding and more. Info and sign up in the Career Center. Deadline is Feb. 24.
• Do you like to make videos? A 90-second video could earn you a Kindle Fire, a pocket video camera or movie passes. Info in the Career Center. Deadline is March 2.
• If you’re looking for a summer job, EYC (Ecology Youth Corps) is offering jobs to students who are 14-17 years old. Info in the Career Center. Application deadline is April 2. Applications for the opportunities for students 18 or older are due Feb. 27.
• Sophomores and Juniors interested in a nursing career might like to apply to the U. of WA Summer Nurse Camp. Deadline to apply is April 16. Information in the Career Center.
• If you like to take pictures, put your talent to the test and compete in the 2012 Columbia Gorge Refuge Stewards Youth Photo Contest. Info in the Career Center. Photos must be submitted by May 7.
ALL STUDENTS need to review the dress code. NO spaghetti straps or strapless tops—straps must be at least 1” wide, shorts and skirts must be longer than mid-thigh, even when seated. NO sagging of pants. Undergarments should NOT be visible. Necklines, waistlines, and hemlines should not be revealing—think MODESTY and appropriateness.
