The first day of school is Tuesday, September 5, 2023. Please check your school’s website for specific information, important dates, and updates.

Columbia River Gorge Elementary

  • August 30, 2023 from 5-7 PM
  • CRGE Kindergarten Orientation – August 29 from 5 – 6 PM (meet the teacher, ride the bus, and drop off supplies!)

WHS

  • Athletics night will be Monday, August 7, 2023 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
  • WHS Ninth Grade and New Student Orientation – August 29 1:00-3:00 PM
    All students new to Washougal high school are invited to get their school picture, ID card for meal purchases, learn about the school, pick up their Chromebook, and get logged in to prepare for the first day of school.  Fellow students will give students a tour and answer questions.
  • WHS New Student Registration event – August 29, 2023 at 3 PM
    All grade level counselors will be present to work with students on course selection. Please bring a transcript if possible. This event is for students new to Washougal who have not yet chosen classes for the new school year.

2023-2024 Bell Schedule

All children attending schools in Washington state must provide medically verified Immunization Records.  Students who do not receive the required immunizations or provide exemption information will be excluded from school starting on the first day of school.

One way you can support providing medically verified immunization records is to log into Skyward Family Access to provide us permission so we can update vaccination information as we receive it.  When you log in, you will find an alert asking you to update information.  Please follow the directions under “Options to Update” and you can interact with the immunization sharing permission form.  If you need assistance with accessing Skyward (Family Access) please contact the school secretary.

Good news – student meal prices have stayed the same for most students at our schools!

Families should submit a new Free & Reduced Meal Application each school year by the 30th day of school. The Free & Reduced application provides free breakfast and lunch, as well as discounts for fees, scholarship opportunities and more.

Carry over ends 10-17-2023: For 2023-2024 year, October 17th is the 30th day of the school year. Any students receiving free or reduced meals on a carry over status from 2022-2023, who have not turned in a new form, will be charged full price starting on October 18, 2023. Families with questions about their application or who need assistance should contact Julie Ferguson at the District Office, 360-954-3069.

Please make sure to also read the letter to households, which is at the start of the linked file, and contains a consent to share eligibility form, and then fill out the 2023-24 Free/Reduced Meal Application Form, letter to households, and the 23-24ConsentToShareEligibility.

Meal prices for the 2023-2024 School Year

Good news – student meal prices for 2023-2024 are the same as last year.  A chart of meal prices is available on the Culinary Services page. Meals for students who qualify for both free AND reduced prices are free for both breakfast and lunch this school year.

Thanks to a new state of Washington program, all meals for students at Hathaway Elementary will be free for the 2023-2024 school year.

After August 28, 2023, your child’s bus information will be available in Skyward. Please make sure to check Skyward Family Access (directions below) to check your child’s pickup and drop-off times.  You can find a link to Skyward on the Washougal School District home page under the Parents menu, using the option Parent access to student information. If you have never used the Skyward Family Access, you can get your username and password from the office at your child’s school.

Log onto Skyward Family Access with your personal username and password then follow the link to Bus info.
