Student voice was front and center at Tuesday night’s Washougal School Board meeting! We are so proud of the Columbia River Gorge Elementary student leadership team for their professional and inspiring presentation to our Board Directors.
These dedicated River Otters go above and beyond, meeting during their lunch breaks with Principal Hannah Hartman to plan assemblies and guide school decisions that help build a positive culture for all students. From leading school spirit initiatives to fostering a sense of belonging, these young leaders are truly putting the Washougal mission into action. The Washougal School Board includes middle and high school perspectives through monthly presentations by student board representatives. Tuesday’s meeting included Jemtegaard Middle School students Sonja and Junior, who shared an update on Associated Student Body activities, athletics, and the recent high school visit for future ninth graders that they participated in.
