Jemtegaard Middle School students were welcomed to school by members of the patriot guard riders on Friday, November 8. The day started with a celebration of veterans during an assembly on Friday, honoring those who have served our country in the military. Veterans were invited to the event by JMS teacher Dr. Jen Hodapp, who hosted a reception for veterans prior to the assembly. The veterans included student family members, community members, and school staff members who have served.
Both the choir and band performed under the direction of Dr. Hodapp. The event included a veteran sharing the experience they had while in the military, and students singing patriotic songs, reading poetry, and a presentation of the colors by students who are members of the Girl Scouts.
