Hi Kodiaks!  I’m Mrs. Henke and I am the full-time school counselor at Cape-Horn-Skye Elementary.  This is my sixth year at Cape and I am excited to work with the amazing students, families and staff here at our school.

I have a Masters in School and Guidance Counseling, as well as a Masters in School Psychology.  As the school counselor, I work alongside teachers, staff and parents to help all students develop social-emotional, academic, and career skills, and to help remove any barriers that may get in the way of their learning.

Parts of my job as a school counselor involve:

*classroom lessons teaching social-emotional, career and academic skills

*small-group counseling

*short-term individual counseling

*consultation with parents and teachers

*crisis response

*attendance support

*school-wide initiatives

*community resource referrals (including longer term therapy services)

*assistance with allocating resources to families

*food backpack program

*Section 504 coordination

* and MORE!

I’m excited and honored to serve you and your child.
