JMS Boosters 2023-24
What is a Booster Club?
In part, Jemtegaard Middle School students are supported by the JMS Booster Club. We are a group open to all parents and guardians who volunteer to provide various programs, activities, and events. We help as participant volunteers and fund-raise to pay for these events, provide teachers with what they need to support our students, etc. The JMS Booster Club’s fund-raising efforts are kept separate from other activities that benefit our students and school. For example, the fund-raising activities organized by the JMS ASB (Associated Student Body) Club are student-led, and the funds they raise are designated only for the ASB. Our fund-raising efforts involve only parent/guardian volunteers, and the funds are used to pay for the programs, activities, and events sponsored by the Booster Club.
Who receives these funds?
The money raised by the JMS Booster Club benefits many different areas within JMS. One such area is the Husky Bucks Program, which allows students to earn “bucks” through good behavior and effort and then spend them at our store. We also support events such as the ‘On A Roll Assembly’, spirit days, lunch rewards, school dances, 8th-grade graduation celebrations, and more.
How do I get involved?
We welcome everyone to join us for a meeting, to volunteer at events, or to meet other parents and enjoy our community.  Please send us an e-mail at jms.boosters@washougalsd.org. We have monthly meetings in the JMS library and would love to hear from you. We welcome your participation in whatever capacity you can offer and hope you find some support and camaraderie with us. If you are so inclined, we also have several Booster officer positions that must be filled annually. We would like to hear about your ideas and suggestions, too. Please join us! Watch for occasional updates and meeting information on ParentSquare.
